Walk-In Dentist in Denver? Call Star Dental First
Star Dental attempts to see patients who arrive without an appointment, but call first whenever possible. Booked patients also need to be seen, so walk-ins may wait and treatment cannot be promised before assessment. Calling lets the team understand the concern and explain today’s availability before you travel.

What happens when you arrive without calling?
Tell the front desk why you came, when the problem began and whether you have pain, swelling or an injury. The team will consider the concern alongside the day’s booked appointments. You may need to wait, and the next available assessment may not allow every treatment to be completed immediately.
Arriving at an open office is not the same as holding a confirmed appointment. If you have a work, transport or childcare limit, tell the team early so the practical options can be discussed.
Calling first makes the visit easier to plan
| Information to share | Example |
|---|---|
| Main problem | “A tooth broke” or “My denture cracked” |
| Location | Upper or lower; left or right |
| Duration | When it started and whether it has changed |
| Symptoms | Pain, swelling or trouble eating |
| Earlier care | A recent procedure, temporary filling or previous instructions |
| Practical needs | Travel time, coverage and any support you need |
The office questions help arrange care; the dentist still needs to examine the problem. You can use plain language such as “pull a tooth” or “get my plate fixed.” The team can clarify what assessment is needed.
Bring the information that may be needed
Bring your medication list, medical history and available insurance or Medicaid information. If the problem involves a denture, bring the appliance and all available pieces in a protective container. If another office has been treating the tooth, bring its instructions or treatment summary if you have them.
Do not postpone an urgent call because records or a member card are missing. The team can explain what information is needed and what may be obtained later. Star’s published Medicaid process often allows eligibility checking with the patient’s legal name and date of birth.
What can be done at the first visit?
The dentist establishes the diagnosis and discusses suitable care. Depending on the case, assessment may lead to a filling, extraction, appropriate medication, possible root canal treatment or another planned step. Some concerns need a specialist or further records.
IV sedation is separately assessed and scheduled; it is not a walk-in service. Immediate dentures also need preparation before extraction day. Repairable denture damage can usually be managed the same day after assessment, but the condition and required work affect timing.
Hours and finding the office
Star is at 1490 S Sheridan Blvd, Suite 102, Denver, next to the King Soopers pharmacy. Published hours are 7 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday–Sunday. Pharmacy hours are separate, and any prescription depends on the dentist’s assessment.
Call to confirm the office schedule and capacity before leaving, especially near closing or around holidays. For an evening visit, read late appointments; for a same-day treatment question, read same-day care.
When waiting at a dental office is not the right next step
Trouble breathing or swallowing or severe spreading swelling needs emergency medical attention. Call 911 for breathing difficulty. Do not wait for a place in a routine dental queue or an online request response in that situation.
For other urgent concerns, call and ask about the appropriate assessment. If a suitable appointment cannot be arranged, ask what care setting and timing the team recommends for the symptoms you describe.
Frequently asked questions
Does Star accept walk-ins?
We attempt to see unbooked patients, but there may be a wait around scheduled appointments. Calling first is strongly preferred.
Is the wait time predictable?
Not from the website. It depends on the day’s appointments, urgent needs and the service required. Ask the team when you call or arrive.
Can I walk in without insurance?
Uninsured patients are welcome, but the same availability and assessment process applies. Ask about the examination and treatment estimate.
Does closing time tell me the latest I can arrive?
No. A visit needs time for assessment and appropriate care. Call before coming, particularly near the end of the day.
