STAR DENTAL · DENVER

Emergency Dentist Without Insurance in Denver

Tooth pain or a broken tooth and no insurance? Call Star Dental at 303-222-1414 before coming in. We welcome uninsured patients and usually accommodate same-day emergency appointments. The first assessment identifies the problem, the treatment options and the costs; what can be completed that day depends on the findings and availability.

Tell us what is happening first

When calling, describe where the problem is—upper or lower, left or right—how long it has been happening and whether there is swelling. Mention a broken tooth, missing filling, recent procedure or difficulty eating. You do not need to know the diagnosis or choose a procedure before the dentist examines you.

Trouble breathing or swallowing, or severe spreading swelling, needs emergency medical help. Call 911 for a breathing emergency. For dental pain and other urgent dental concerns, calling the office is the quickest way to discuss an appointment; an online request is not an immediate response service.

What may happen at the first visit

Star accommodates many urgent visits for tooth pain, extractions, fillings and wisdom-tooth concerns. The dentist assesses the area and uses appropriate images or tests to understand the cause. At Star, visual explanations help connect the finding with the options being discussed.

Depending on the case, first-visit care may include assessment, appropriate medication, a filling, extraction or possible root canal treatment. These are possible outcomes, not a treatment menu that applies to every painful tooth. Some problems need another appointment or specialist care.

Ask about diagnostic and treatment costs separately

Part of the visit What to ask
Examination and images What is the expected charge for assessing this problem?
Treatment today What procedure is recommended, and what does its fee include?
Further care Will I need another treatment visit, final restoration or replacement tooth?
Medication Is a prescription appropriate, and is the pharmacy charge separate?
Follow-up When should I return and whom should I call if symptoms change?

Star’s existing guide gives a general $250–$350 per-tooth range for a straightforward, non-wisdom extraction with local anesthetic included. The examination and needed X-rays are separate, generally about $150 combined in that published example. More complex surgery, wisdom teeth and other services have different scopes. An assessment is needed before those figures can be applied to your plan.

Payment without insurance

Star publishes acceptance of major credit cards, debit cards, cash and Zelle; obtain Zelle instructions directly from the office. The estimated patient portion is due at the end of each appointment. CareCredit may be available for approved applicants, with separate application and financing terms.

Tell the team about cost concerns before treatment. Ask for the recommended care and remaining stages to be itemized. If you cannot complete a longer plan immediately, ask the dentist which needs should be addressed first and what waiting on other work would mean. See payment options and staged care.

Same-day assessment and completed treatment are different

Some urgent care can be completed at the initial visit; other cases need stabilization followed by definitive treatment. A root canal may need further work and a final restoration. An extraction may need separately planned replacement. IV sedation requires a scheduled visit after assessment and applicable approval; it is not a same-day emergency option.

Before leaving, ask: “What was completed today, what is still needed, and when should I return?” Keep the instructions and estimate together so you can follow the plan even if the pain improves.

Frequently asked questions

Can I be seen today without insurance?

Call first. Star welcomes uninsured patients and usually accommodates same-day emergency appointments, but the team needs to confirm availability and assess the problem.

Can I walk in?

We attempt to see unbooked patients, but booked appointments also need to be seen and there may be a wait. Calling first helps the team plan your arrival.

Will antibiotics solve the problem?

Medication may be appropriate in some cases, but it does not replace assessment and treatment of the cause. The dentist decides what is needed; antibiotics are not automatic for every toothache.

Can I get a root canal at the emergency visit?

It may be possible after assessment, but completion that day is not guaranteed. Ask what can be done now and which stages or referrals remain.
