Dr. Florina Menina, DDS

Choosing a dentist is easier when you know who will be looking after you. Dr. Menina is the owner and general dentist at Star Dental. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2010 and has more than 15 years of dental experience.

Her work includes general and restorative dentistry, care for children and adults, and tooth extractions. She uses examination findings, X-rays and intraoral photographs to help patients understand their dental health and treatment choices.

When comparing dentists, look beyond a star rating. Read what patients say about explanations, comfort, scheduling and the kind of care you need. Our patient-review page links to feedback on Google, Yelp and RateMDs so you can explore those experiences yourself.

Find the care you are looking for

A good dental home should fit your immediate concern and your longer-term care. Start with the option closest to what you need; your examination determines which treatment is appropriate.

How to choose the best Denver dentist for you

“Best” is not one fixed label. The right choice depends on your dental needs, how clearly the dentist communicates and whether the practical details work for you. The American Dental Association recommends considering location, office hours, insurance and communication when choosing a dental home.

What to compareWhat to askWhat to look for
Your dentistWho will provide my care?A named clinician, clear qualifications and an explanation of who handles each stage.
Diagnosis & choicesCan you show me the finding and explain my options? An explanation connected to your examination, photos or X-rays—not just a list of procedures.
Patient feedbackWhat do patients say about the care I need?Specific comments about communication, comfort and appointment experiences.
AvailabilityCan I reserve this type of appointment at a suitable time?A confirmed appointment; opening hours alone do not guarantee treatment availability.
Costs & coverageWhat does my estimate include, and what may insurance pay?Written treatment stages, plan verification and an explanation of expected out-of-pocket costs.
Follow-up & comfortHow can I raise a concern during or after treatment?A plan for questions, comfort needs and aftercare.

If two recommendations differ, ask why. A plan to preserve a tooth and a plan to replace it may have different benefits, limitations, visits and costs. Our guide to comparing dental estimates helps you compare the same treatment stages rather than the price alone.

What happens at your first appointment?

  1. Tell us what matters to you. Explain your main concern, dental history, medications, previous experiences and any anxiety. Bring your insurance information and any available records or treatment estimates.
  2. Understand the findings. The dentist examines your mouth and recommends appropriate imaging. At Star Dental, X-rays and intraoral photographs can help show the area being discussed.
  3. Talk through the options. Ask what needs attention first, whether there are alternatives and what each stage is intended to accomplish.
  4. Agree on a clear next step. Discuss the estimate, insurance questions and appointment timing before deciding on treatment.

Your first visit is not a commitment to a large treatment plan. What can be completed that day depends on your needs, the assessment and available appointment time. See our new-patient information to prepare for your visit.

Medicaid, private insurance and uninsured dental care

We accept Health First Colorado Medicaid and many major PPO dental plans. Contact us with your exact plan so we can confirm whether it is accepted and help check your benefits. Coverage can depend on the service, eligibility, plan rules and any required authorization.

No dental insurance? You are welcome here too. An assessment lets the dentist identify what you need and explain a treatment estimate. Ask which charges cover the evaluation, imaging, treatment and follow-up so there are no assumptions about what is included. CareCredit is an available financing option, subject to approval and its terms.
