Dentist Without Insurance in Denver
You can see a dentist at Star Dental without dental insurance. We welcome self-pay patients for routine care, urgent concerns and treatment planning. Call to describe what you need, ask about the initial examination charge and arrange an appointment; the dentist can then explain your options and a treatment-specific estimate.

You do not need insurance to start the conversation
Losing coverage, working without employer benefits or taking a break from dental visits does not prevent you from contacting our office. Tell the team plainly: “I do not have dental insurance. I need an exam,” or “I have a painful tooth and need to know what the first visit will cost.” That gives the team a useful place to begin.
If your concern is urgent, use our emergency care without insurance guide. The page you are reading focuses on planning ordinary care and longer treatment needs. Both pathways begin with understanding the problem rather than choosing a procedure by price alone.
What to ask before the first visit
| Question | What the answer helps you plan |
|---|---|
| What is the fee for the appointment I am booking? | Your initial out-of-pocket cost |
| Could X-rays or other records be separate? | The diagnostic part of the estimate |
| Is cleaning planned at this visit? | Whether another appointment may be needed |
| When will I receive a treatment estimate? | Time to understand the proposed care |
| When is payment due? | Practical arrangements for each stage |
Bring recent records or the name of your previous office if you have them. Star can request useful records, although your dentist will still make an independent diagnosis and may need new images. Do not postpone contacting us simply because you cannot find old paperwork.
Understanding your first assessment
The dentist listens to your concern, examines your mouth and selects records that help answer the clinical questions. For routine care, cleaning, diagnosis, X-rays and intraoral photos may form part of the visit. Your particular needs determine the sequence; an urgent or complex problem may need a different appointment plan.
At Star, images help us show what we find. Ask the dentist to explain which teeth need attention, the available options and the expected next steps. If a term is unfamiliar, ask for the plain-language version. You should be able to connect each estimate item with a finding or a goal.
Build a complete self-pay estimate
A useful estimate shows more than a total. It identifies the examination, imaging, treatment of particular teeth, any replacement appliance and follow-up. If treatment has several stages, ask which fees relate to each visit. If a tooth is removed, ask whether and how replacement is included in the plan.
We reuse the service-specific ranges published on Star’s website, not invented all-inclusive packages. For example, conventional full or partial dentures are generally $900–$1,100 per arch; that amount should not be applied to a flipper, immediate denture, repair or implant-supported treatment. See denture costs for the scope and ask for your own written estimate.
Planning care when you cannot do everything at once
Ask your dentist to distinguish urgent needs from treatment that can be scheduled later, and explain the consequences of each choice. Some steps depend on earlier care being finished. Our staged treatment guide lets you organize the sequence and estimate worksheet helps compare like-for-like costs.
Insurance, discount programs and financing are different products. Before buying a plan or applying for credit, check participating providers, waiting periods, exclusions, fees and total cost. Ask Star which arrangements are currently available before relying on a specific payment method or financing offer.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy insurance before making an appointment?
No. You can book as a self-pay patient. If you are considering coverage, compare its effective date and terms with the care you need instead of assuming a new plan will pay for everything immediately.
Will you tell me the cost before treatment?
Ask for an itemized estimate and clarification of any amounts that depend on further findings or coverage. The team can explain the appointment and payment process before you proceed.
Can I come after work or on a weekend?
Our published hours are 7 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday–Sunday. Call about an appointment for your particular service.
What if I have not seen a dentist in years?
Tell us that when booking and bring whatever history you have. Start with an assessment and a clear plan; our returning after a long gap guide explains how to prepare.
