Denture Reline in Denver
A denture reline changes the surface that fits against the gums; it is different from repairing a broken tooth or making a new denture. If your appliance has become loose, arrange a fit assessment at Star Dental in Denver. The dentist can discuss whether a reline is appropriate and which treatment and timing are available for your case.

What a reline is intended to address
The tissue-facing surface of a denture needs to work with the current shape of the mouth. When that relationship changes, the appliance can feel different even if its teeth and base have not visibly broken. A reline is one possible approach to a fit problem, but it cannot answer every concern about the appliance.
Describe when the change started, whether it followed extractions and where the denture moves or rubs. Bring the appliance and any earlier treatment information. The dentist needs to examine both the mouth and denture before choosing the work.
Compare the terms before comparing prices
| Term | Main purpose |
|---|---|
| Adjustment | A targeted change to an appliance or contact area |
| Reline | Changing the surface that adapts to the tissues |
| Repair | Fixing damaged parts such as a break or missing denture tooth |
| Replacement | Making a new appliance when that better addresses the need |
If there is both damage and poor fit, the plan may need to address both. Ask what finding makes the suggested approach suitable and whether it is expected to solve the problem you described. Our loose-denture guide helps organize that conversation.
Questions for the assessment
- Is the fit surface the main issue, or is there a bite, design or damage problem?
- Is the mouth still changing after recent treatment?
- Would relining the existing appliance be useful, or is replacement a better option?
- What type of work is being proposed, and where will it be completed?
- How long would the appliance be unavailable?
- What follow-up would be needed and what would it cost?
These questions are especially important for an immediate denture used during healing. The appropriate stage for fit-related work depends on the individual plan; an online schedule cannot establish it for every patient.
Do not assume a repair timetable applies
Star can usually complete suitable denture repairs the same day after assessment, but that is not a confirmed timetable for every reline or fit treatment. The type of appliance, the work required and appointment availability matter.
If you need the appliance for an event, work or daily eating, tell the team before it is left for treatment. Ask about the expected return time and whether a backup appliance is useful. An agreed plan is more reliable than applying a generic “same-day denture” claim to a different procedure.
Reline cost and coverage
Relines are separate from Star’s published $900–$1,100 per-arch conventional new-denture range. Ask for the assessment fee, the proposed fit treatment and follow-up to be identified in your estimate. No reline price is supplied by that new-appliance range.
If you have insurance or Medicaid, ask about the actual service, any timing or frequency rules and the needed approval. A benefit for a new denture does not automatically establish the terms for maintaining an existing one. Our denture cost guide and estimate worksheet explain how to separate those items.
Avoid home modifications
Do not reshape, heat or grind a denture to try to change its fit. The ADA advises professional assessment for poorly fitting dentures. Contact the office if there is pain, a sore area or difficulty eating, and ask about appliance use until the visit.
Frequently asked questions
Does every loose denture need a reline?
No. The dentist needs to identify whether the concern is fit, damage, the bite, changes in the mouth or another issue before recommending treatment.
Is a reline included with a new denture?
Star’s conventional fee includes some initial adjustments; a later reline is separate. Ask for the exact follow-up scope in your written plan.
Will I get my denture back the same day?
Ask after the appliance and work are assessed. The usual same-day repair timing should not be treated as a promise for relining or every fit-related procedure.
Can I arrange an assessment at Star?
Yes. Call to describe the fit problem and appliance. The team can arrange an assessment and discuss whether relining or another approach is appropriate and available for your case.
